— participated project
participation-based artistic editorial project
Driven by an interest in the politics of the urban fabric, its fractures, and modes of representation, she approaches artistic production as both a witness to temporary experiences and a tool for shifting and reassigning meaning within everyday language.
Through dialogical practices and spatial installations, drawing and counter-mapping, micro-publications and experimental archiving, her research explores imaginary spaces and narratives emerging between lived spaces, lived-in spaces and personal experiences, moving between individual artistic production and the care of collective projects.
Rooted in her experience in education, museum mediation, and social assistance projects in border areas, her work takes on a processual form, giving life to interventions that inhabit liminal spaces and unfold through encounter. Beyond their material form, the works aim to transform the contexts that host them, inviting engagement, exploration, and recognition.
In a world shaped by the functionalization of space and structured according to logics of linguistic and cultural separation and discrimination, artistic research, freed from the demands of productivity, can rethink the canons of reality, reintegrate practices of play, and celebrate temporality, mobility, irony, and the imagination

CRISTINA MATERASSI
Corrispondenze is a collaborative artistic and editorial project founded by Paola Boscaini and Cristina Materassi in 2021. Its research focuses on the notion of dwelling as an evolving relational practice, investigating inhabited space as a dynamic territory shaped by memories, conflicts, imaginaries, and possibilities.
The project unfolds through tools of collective gathering, reworking, and rewriting: maps, archives, publications, public space activations, and digital environments function as platforms for listening and shared storytelling. These practices move between textual and visual languages, between gesture and narrative, between presence and trace, aiming to bring forth open and plural forms of spatial representation.
Corrispondenze positions itself as a mobile and accessible platform capable of activating collective knowledge processes and generating sensitive, porous, and constantly evolving archives. At its core lies the idea that dwelling is not a static condition, but a process interweaving relationships, tensions, and desires — one that can be observed, deconstructed, and rewritten through participatory artistic practices.
Since 2022, the project has expanded through a collaborative editorial production involving artists, researchers, and students in the construction of a living archive of practices and reflections on inhabited space. Each publication represents a fragment of this process — a narrative threshold from which new possibilities for storytelling and connection may emerge.
