Drawing a line, establishing a boundary, helps humans orient themselves within the vastness of places, structuring a relationship with space. Defining and measuring environments becomes a way to recognize them. Yet, the perimeter that delimits a space is inherently ambiguous: on one hand, it marks the end of a territory, a dividing line between what is within and beyond, and at the same time, it serves as a connection to adjacent lands.
